Star-studded 2024 WNBA Draft tipped off in style Monday

NEW YORK — Two-time Naismith College Player of the Year Caitlin Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday night.

The 6-foot-1 guard from Iowa joins reigning Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston in Indiana, giving the Fever a dynamic duo to build around.

Clark averaged 27.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game for the Hawkeyes in her junior season, leading them to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.

She is considered one of the best shooters in the country, and her ability to create her own shot and get to the rim will be a major asset for the Fever.

The Fever finished 12-22 last season, but they are hoping that the addition of Clark will help them contend for a playoff spot in 2024.
