Scottie Scheffler Wins THE PLAYERS Championship
Scheffler Adds Another Layer to His Legend
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - Scottie Scheffler, already the best in the world, added another layer to his legend Sunday by winning THE PLAYERS Championship. The victory was Scheffler's fifth of the season and his second major championship.
Scheffler shot a final-round 69 to finish at 13-under 275, two strokes ahead of runner-up Sepp Straka. It was Scheffler's second consecutive victory at THE PLAYERS Championship. He also won the event in 2023.
With the victory, Scheffler moved to No. 1 in the world golf rankings. He is the first player to hold the top spot in the world rankings since Tiger Woods in 2013.
